AFS collaborated with Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden on their design of a Rapidly Deployable Shelter Prototype for Syrian Refugees in and around the Alzztari Camp in Jordan. We assisted the Material and Detail studio within the Master’s Program in Architecture and Urban Design, by providing research of local environmental & living conditions which defined the constraints for their urban and architectural design solutions.

The prototype which utilizes rigid foam as a base building material that’s cut by a robotic arm is currently being fabricated at the university.
