Mourad Bendjennet – Board Member

Mourad Bendjennet received a Master’s of Architecture from the University of Carthage and a Master’s in Management of Project Development from the University of Montreal. He has gained valuable experience while working with the architectural firms NFOE & associates architecture and DFS architecture & design. He is a member of the Order of Architects of Quebec, Canada and used to be a member of the Order of professional technologists of Quebec. He founded Aedifix+ inc. with the goal of offering a new approach to the development of architectural projects which adapt to the needs of their clients.

Philanthropic activity is essential in the life of Mourad Bendjennet. He has worked with several organizations as a volunteer, notably among these is Habitat for Humanity Montreal, with whom he worked with the goal of assuring a better quality of life for families in need within the city. He also founded Architects for Society which aids humanitarian organizations with access to architectural services at an affordable price. AFS also helps those new to Quebec who work in the field of architecture to gather professional experience in the province with the goal of finding a job.

At the local level, Mr. Bendjennet was implicated with his local tenant committee in order to aid his neighbors by bringing his know-how in architecture and construction management. He is a member of the administrative counsel of the association of families of l’île-des- Sœurs which handles various local files with the goal of ensuring a better future for the next generations in his neighborhood.

All of these activities pushed him to participate in the 2013 municipal elections in Montreal as a candidate for the mayor of the borough of Verdun for the party Vrai changement pour Montréal – Groupe Mélanie Joly. Mr. Bendjennet was 3rd of the 8 candidates receiving 17.5% of the popular vote.
